Embrace Simplicity
I believe that design should be clear and simple, supporting the message rather than overshadowing it. In a time where media bombard our senses, the most powerful designs require a bold yet spare aesthetic. I want to help you communicate in the most direct, concise, visually appealing way possible.
Understand Your Audience
Find out what your audience is looking for and provide it up front. Keep your audience in mind as you think about things like font size (is it too small for the visually impaired?), colors (is there enough contrast?), and complexity (are you putting so much information on the page that people can't find what they want?).
Foster Usability and Accessibility
Sometimes designers put so much emphasis on style and flashiness that they inadvertently create web sites that are hard to use. I believe in an emphasis on usability, where function informs the design rather than the other way around. I also strive to improve accessibility, making sites work for those with various disabilities and impairments - an effort which usually improves experiences for everyone.
